Facebook dosen't have hashtags. only instagram and vine have them

FB doesn't have hash tags.

you just type the # sign and then type the word you want to use as your hashtag - same as the hastags on intagram and twitter

apparently the other people answering dont realize that facebook now has hashtags too

You just write the topic you want your post to turn up under with a #, such as #hashtag.

Note that hashtags haven't been rolled out to all accounts yet. If your account doesn't have it yet, it might not turn into a link when you do.

But it's a good idea to start using hashtags already even if your account doesn't have it yet - they will turn into real ones when it is rolled out for you.

Also note that privacy for posts is the same regardless if you use hashtags. So if you post something that is only visible to your friends, only your friends will get a hit when they search for that hashtag. If you make a public post with a hashtag, everyone can find it.

Hashtags do not work in comments, only in posts
