i uploaded a pic on facebook and got some likes, but when i try to make it my profile pic the likes and comments go away! how do i keep them and make the pic my profile? Thanks in advance!

It will copy your picture but it will have no likes whereas the original will keep likes and comments. It's impossible to transfer them.

You cannot. The original photo will still have the likes and comments, but not the profile picture. It creates a copy of the image for a profile image, therefore making a new photo.

They will always do that. People will just have to re-like if they enjoy the picture.

You can! But you need to upload pic directly as your profile picture.
1. Go to your timeline
2. take mouse to your profile pic
3. click on "Edit Profile Picture" option
4. Choose "Upload photo"
Unfortunately no other way to get likes back on previously uploaded picture when you use that as your profile pic.
