i searched the question on google but all of them talked about a "how to connect" option that doesn't seem to be there for me...so how can i add the "Add friend" button??? thanks

You don't need to add the add friend button. By default it is there. If you have exceed the limit of friends then Facebook will remove the add friend button from your timeline
