I see people that turn their friend requests into followers, and I want to know how. Can someone please help me?

After you've turned on follow, you'll see your default settings. You can edit your comment and notifications settings. If you want to update these settings later:

when someone sends you a friend request, they are already following your public posts - there is no need to do anything
