There's tags for likes but they aren't working for me my friend just did it and it worked why won't it work on my account?!?!

What do you mean by not working? It should be working. Do you put other symbols other than letters (eg: /.,$-:;&"'!?[)? You shouldn't put spaces on them either. If you don't do any of those then it's a problem with Instagram.
