If I post a photo as private, to be seen only by me, and then after its posted THEN make it public, will it still show up on the public newsfeed? I want to post some photos but I don't want them to show up on the main newsfeed.

Yeah they will. They always do. I hate it.

they will always show in the news feed once you make them public - there is no way around that

u can make selected photo s to be shown in public.. u can upload a pic tat should not be seen by public and also u can upload a pic tat can be seen by all.. While uploadin photo there will be option below left to make view as public or oly by u or to ur close friends.. Its simple nd easy...
