having trouble adding a friend on facebook. we've both adjusted our privacy settings, but neither of us physically has the option of adding the other, the "add friend" button is physically not present on either of our timelines for each other. I know I am able to add people because I hovered over a friend of a friend and saw the option to add them.
Any advice?

One of you might have blocked the other accidentally.

Contact facebook, this is not normal.

Might be you had block from facebook because you sent too many request to those whom you don't know,contact facebook about the issue.
