When you send a Friend Request to someone on Facebook, and you cancel that request immediately because it was the wrong person that you thought you knew, will that person get a notification saying that the friend request from you was canceled?

Hi James, Technically yes but no.
When you send request it will immediately appear in his notification when you cancel it it will take about 2-5 mins until the notification will dissappear. But there won't be notifications informing about the cancel.

up to now this kind of service is not given by Facebook designer so don't worry there will be no notification
