Avast is blocking my facebook messages, but why =)? - Amila - 09-04-2013 09:28 AM

The thing is, every time facebook messages i get this warning:
Trojan blocked:
http://www.facebook.com/messages/1000016...
C:\Users\----\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome.exe
JS:Agent-BWQ [Trj]

It doesnt let me view the messages. What is this?

I have this same problem right now! And this morning everything was ok. Maybe some problem with new update of virus database from Avast! Does anybody have any idea?

- abraXus - 09-04-2013 09:45 AM

it means people are trying to send you a virus using facebook messages, and facebook is trying to protect you by not letting you open it

either that, or your computer is already infected with a virus, and people are trying to use a trick using facebook messages to connect to the infection

Same here.... Started this morning i suppose.. Probably just a bad update from Avast..

Though, it's good they make safe patches, but this is kind of an exageration Tongue

I have the exact same thing happening right now. It does not matter what massages i want to open it always comes up.
i guess it might be an avast error since some people seem to get the problem at the same time

I have the same problem... and I use Avast too...
There isn't error with AVG so it's possible a false positive in Avast

+1...我也是

- Daniel - 09-04-2013 10:48 AM

Its Possible it Could be Some Kind of Virus in a Facebook Message or Something Either That Or your Computer Has A Virus

- Paul - 09-04-2013 10:55 AM

Sounds like it may be a false positive, check the official Avast forum here:

They will update it and sort it out soon I imagine.

I don't have an answer but the same thing is happening to me. You are not alone on this one.
