Do I just invite them or should I send them a message asking if they would like to join my group?
BQ) If a person hasn't confirmed their membership to a group will that group be deleted since I'm not a member either any more?
I accidentally created two groups and don't want people to mistakenly join the other group.
Never mind the bonus question...

invite that way u don't have to feel embarrass if u ask and they say no.

If you leave the group, it'll be deleted. You can also delete the group
You could simply invite them, putting a link on similar pages will be a good idea as well.
