For example, it says "[My Name] has added [language] to his profile". This is very bothersome for me. How do I change it?

Go to your privacy settings and change to "only me" or click on "don't show in newsfeed" "hide from newsfeed".

You should be able to click on the right side of any posting and click "hide from timeline" or something to that effect. Thank you for your answer on my other question, I applied to U of C too so your answer was very relevant. I left a comment when I gave you best answer.
