Why is it that some people never have the words in class but yet have a flourishing social media life? - Student - 10-13-2012 09:24 AM

One of the most flourishing fears people have is of public speaking: not spiders, not dogs. Public speaking. It's a lot easier for people to wax poetic or rant about something when you don't have an audience. People with an active social media life are most likely anxious to express their opinions in front of other people for fear of being judged. If they stay behind a key pad and a screen, there's the illusion that there's no one around to perform for or react to. It's a shame really, that we've become so withdrawn from society.

That depends on their soft and hard skills.
That can be understandable in most cases.

in addition to the first contribution some people preferring writing to verbal discussion are more the reflecting type. Before they leave a comment they like to discuss pro's and con's with themselves. Although I myself don't have a "public speech block" I have very often the impression having the best ideas when the group has arrived at the over next topic. Therefore I prefer writing too.
