Facebook is so popular in modern society because it's easier to use compared to twitter and myspace, its frequently used social media and not too many people uses myspace anymore. It's good for communicating with people you haven't seen or talked to for a long time and it's also good to talk to people on there too.

Because people are getting lonelier by the day, inspite of having a family, many try to flirt on FaceBook to kill time. You can upload photos and get likes from the opposite sex. Its a good meeting place for singles and also for playing games. Its nice to see somebody liking/sharing your interests.
