if i sent someone a message on facebook chat and they're idle can they read it?

If the person's idle then that means they haven't been active on Facebook for a while. So if they read the message, it should say that they're active.

It could also mean that they're on the Facebook page, but haven't moved the mouse in a long time. So I suppose that if the message popped up in a chat box at the bottom, then they could read it without moving the mouse, assuming that they don't have a screensaver coming on either.

But most likely if they're idle they didn't read the message.
