I have a question in regards to the validity of using social media tools such as linkedin and Facebook as valid tools in the recruitment of skilled and non skilled individuals.
Has any individual or organisation have any examples on how they developed or how they use their social media recruitment policy? I am interested in primarily seeing how they can be used in the development of a successful recruitment strategy and if their results can be traced from a profitability aspect

Not appropriate as a legitimate recruitment tool

Social networks can be manipulated by other users so realistically not a good recruitment tool.
Linked in would be considered more appropriate than Facebook. However to "fit in" as a member you would generally need to be employed or at university. Otherwise there would be no-one in your network

Yes it not a formal recruitment tool. But since we are in a world where online social media are given with so much credit, let us try to have a better reasoning. If it will be used for the practice of a profession, there might not be a question ( except for credibility). As a matter of fact, social media doctors are everywhere.
