How do Tags work on YouTube? - Lauren M. - 11-07-2013 07:58 AM

So I wanna do a Winter Tag video on my YouTube channel but I don't understand how it works other than you answer questions. Can someone please explain? Thanks you.
What I mean by tag is i answer questions. NOT THE key words thing.

Tags allow people to find your video through keywords for example. If your video was named "Cat jump attempt" and somebody searched "Cat Fail" and you have tagged the words cat and fail they would still find your video.

Tags are things you enter into the lower part of the video's settings and they make it easier for people to find the video. Generally they should be related to the video such as "food" for a cooking video.

But now as YouTube aka (Google) tweaks things they have broken the system as a videos description improves the search listing of said video. Other things to take into consideration are the title, comments and of course the thumbnail.
