Why is facebook insisting that we provide government issued ID to log in to our account? - Marc - 11-07-2013 08:00 AM

I think it's time we all close our accounts. It's bad enough we have to create accounts at every website we'd like to participate at, but to demand ID? Boycott facebook.
"real people" "fake users" These words are new concepts to me. Are not all people and users real? I suppose there are spambots.
I'm in Florida, USA.

More and more web sites are requiring some kind of ID to validate who a person is and linking accounts to real people because there are way too many fake users and accounts on the Internet. Privacy is some thing from the past and no one ever had real privacy on the Internet. If you use the Internet for every thing but belonging to a Web Site, it's not an issue.

I don't know what country you're in, but in the US, I have never been asked for any form of ID, government or otherwise, to log into my Facebook account.

The only reason I can think of is that you have a government job (municipal, state or federal) and you're trying to log in from work. Other than that, I have no idea what you're talking about.
