Is it possible to send a message to someone via email and it will end up on their Facebook account.

yes, just use their vanity url
like if it's
facebook.com/john_smith
you can send an email to
john_smith@facebook.com
however, if the email account you send it from isnt an email account that is part of the person's friends list, then the email will end up in their "other messages" folder and they will not be notified about it being there
so they probably will never read it
