She's trying to protect you and your girlfriend from emotions that will come up (no pun intended) while kissing, that neither of you are ready to deal with. Respect your mother's wishes. She's trying to protect you from an unwanted pregnancy which you are not ready, emotionally, or financially, to deal with. Think about the needs of someone other than yourself for a change.
