My significant other is constantly on facebook. he tells me he never uses chat but sometimes his chat icon will have a certain amount of min/hrs next to it and other times it is only a green dot. do the number of min/hrs have to do with how often he is using chat? He uses facebook from an android galaxy 3

K...when its green means ur friend is online
..and when it shows certain amount of min/hrs means the paticular has been online before according to the time period given
like if it shows eg:- Joy 10 min
means he was online 10 min before...
and one more thing
This thing is shown only of the person who you have last time or u frequently talk too
