i got a facebook direct message from a stranger using zoosk and am concerned about what happened? - Sprout - 11-13-2013 06:41 AM

The message said the person wants to chat and I clicked accept. but prior to this occurrence, I never joined zoosk or installed it. is this scenario a virus. nothing abnormal is present yet on my computer screen.

What you clicked on was an Ad for Zoosk, it was not actually part of Facebook. You never have to click "accept" on Facebook to get a message. Look before you click and see if its an advertisement. The good thing is, it probably just brought you to the Zoosk site or a pop-up for Zoosk, so no harm should have been done. However, BE VERY CAREFUL about this in the future, because if you on a site that is less trustworthy than Facebook, this could have been a fatal virus.
