Ok on Facebook if you go to your profile or someone elses profile and view it under where you would click your friends and see the list of your friends of those 6 photos that make up that friends box. Does facebook pick those randomly or is there a reasoning?

They are picked randomly as far as I know but many say that its sorted according to recent activity of the friends i.e who were online recently. There is no official answer to this.
