Like, if you love your daughter. These kind of postings are a way for companies to build a profile on you. So, if you "like" this, you might "like" that. Any thoughts on this?

Yes, the majority of them are fake. I think some pages, however use them just for likes and to become more popular. Others use them to collect information on your profile and to suggest pages or advertise things that you would like.
Although, the majority use them so that companies can use them: People like them, the likes received on the posts are sold to companies and the companies can use them to make their pages seem more popular.
