After you write your own status(wall post) you'll see a little icon with a person and a little +(plus) by side of it. Click that and then tag the people

Firstly you write your status, and then click on the option in the status box to tag a friend in the status,then it gives you the option,type in their name, then click on the name from the generated drop down list and then the person is tagged in your status update.
