An old friend of mine betrayed me and is now posting things about me on Facebook. It says really embarrassing things about me on her status update and I wanted to get in the account and delete those things. Is there a way how to?

Just report them. If it is actual harrassment and not an overreaction, fb will delete the things for you.

No you shouldn't try to get into her account. But Facebook has really stepped it up as far as protection. If she posted a status you find offensive, you can report it for whatever reason you find it offensive. Or you can be a bigger person and block her. Who cares what other people think. Rumors are exactly what their name is ...rumors.
