Can the school track down where you live even if you were using a fake name through facebook? - Dawid - 11-19-2013 12:50 AM

Ok, so I have this one person (he's not even real) that I like to use just for the hell of it and then my friends came to that account and started using it to make fun of this one person and she got s0o angry that she said she was going to contact the school. Is there somehow they can possibly find me even though it's not me? (But it was on my computer.)

The school can contact Facebook (they won't get through to them), and Facebook can trace the IP back to you, and the school can then find out where you live from that.

But it's highly unlikely.

The school can contact facebook or contact the police and get acres to your ip and trace it. If you use a proxy or VPN it would be harder.

The school can't find you. But if they feel there is bullying going on, then the school can contact the police who could get a court order to get Facebook's records to find who made the account
