Is deleting my facebook a social suicide? - Woohzhooz - 11-19-2013 05:37 AM

I deleted my facebook (I had many friends to begin with but then deleted a lot to about 95) but I feel ill be left out of things because I don't have one. I used to talk to one of my friends on there but since I deleted it, obviously I don't anymore. so did I just kill my social life by doing this? not that I had one anyway...

Given the decline in popularity of Facebook, no, if anything you helped your social life.

Nope, not at all. There are times people just expect that you should know something because they posted on facebook, but people will work around it.

It doesn't seem to kill your social life. Get out and meet people text your friends and get together in public and meet people together. I deleted my Facebook once and I texted my friend and we went to the mall and we met a few people and they are now out friendsSmile

remember back before the internet existed? (oh you probably dont)

well, back then, people went outside and interacted with people in real life - shocking, i know....

try a coffee shop, or library...

Do you have other methods of contacting your friends and do you use it regularly to contact them. Not making a facebook could make it more difficult to know when events are going on with friends. If someone creates a event about a party on facebook you won't know about it.

In the end, to determine how much not having a facebook affects your social life is what other methods do you have to keep in contact with your friends. If you don't have other methods you are basicaly going to lose contact with your friends. Otherwise if you have other methods the you will be fine. Just keep in contact with your friends so you guys don't grow apart.

Nope. It's a social revelation. Find real friends in person, and you'll be a lot more confident and happier.

Also, social suicide is locking yourself up in a house doing nothing. Never trying gets you nowhere.
