If I bought an iphone on pay as you go would it use up the amount of free internet I have? Also what about a facebook app, would that use up internet?
Also, how much time would i get on websites suck as facebook and instagram with 3gb worth of free internet?

No because I changed my phone internet settings so that Apps and Internet are only used/updates when I connect to my houses' wifi

Anything done while using 3G/4G will count as data usage.
Time amount not known. It comes down to how much of what you are doing at the time on the apps.
