what is the difference between messages & notifications on facebook? - mulletmeister63 - 11-21-2013 10:13 PM

i know when i send or receive a message it only goes to the person i'm sending it to ( recipient / addressee ) , who sees notifications i send & receive , all my friends also ?
ellis - ty good answer , but does " posting on my wall " mean the notification goes " public " on my homepage for all to see ?

A message is private so only you can view it. No one will be able to see that you have received or sent the message other than you and the recipient.

Notifications are usually public (unless you change otherwise) so people are able to see things you have been notified about.

For example:
- Jack posted on your wall is a public notification
- Bob sent you a message is a private notification

massage --> only u can see the conservation or chat that u have like yahoo massage only can read the massage.

notification --> all news about your status like someone comment on your status. other update can be like if you list the friend or family relationship in yr Facebook.
