Prevent friends on Facebook from viewing timeline? - James - 11-22-2013 03:32 AM

Hi, I have created a custom list that contains friends that are young (cousins, nieces, etc) and parents that I do not want to view anything at all on my timeline. Anything that I post, or anything that anyone else posts. I thought I edited the timeline and tagging properly, but when I use the `view as`thingy on FB, the person can still it. Please help. Thanks.

So I believe when YOU post something in your own Timeline, you change the Audience Setting properly as per the content of your post should only be read by who, ie one of your two lists, never set to Public or Friends. Or is that what you did?

Or, you have to broaden your knowledge on Custom in Audience Setting.
Example:
Say you want to post something that can be seen by all of your friend except certain people, say A, B and certain friend list (say the Old list) ➤ before press Post ➤ click Audience Setting ➤ Custom ➤ on "Share this to" enter Friend; on "Don't Share this to" type A, B and Old (remember, you have to click the name on the dropdown options).

Have you think about OTHERS' doing to/in your Timeline?
Go to Account Settings ➤ Timeline and Tagging Settings:
● Who can see things on my timeline?
You might set to Only Me for these two, as every friend, young or old otherwise will see those.
➤ Who can see posts you've been tagged in on your timeline? ➤ Only Me
➤ Who can see what others post on your timeline? ➤ Only Me
