I lost the password to my old yahoo account. So I created a new one. Now I would like to know how to connect this yahoo account to my facebook account.

you can actually create a openID with your existing facebook itself,
1. go to any yahoo page and point on sign in
2. you will see options to sign in either with facebook or google, choose either
3. enter the details and click log-in or sign in
4. click on allow for yahoo to access your facebook or google, whatever you have used to log with
if you wish to add yahoo mail to your facebook account,
1. log-in to your facebook
2. go to settings > general from left > click email
3. add your yahoo mail address and save changes entering your password
