If you are using a yahoomail for opening a facebook account, you can sign in to your yahoomail account and there you will be receiving an email from facebook asking you to verify your facebook account. It happens sometimes that if you do not find the confirmation email in your inbox you can always search the spam folder for it.
Once you click the confirmation link in the email sent you are ready with your new facebook account. Fill up all the required data and start surfing :-)
