I keep seeing that anon means "anonymous" but that hash tag doesn't make sense to me.

Anon means "quickly to come"
Anonymous uses the motto of Anonymous is
"We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us."
the tag implies that the wave of Anonymous is coming a turning point on the web where chaos will rule kinda apocalyptic kinda an empty threat and defiantly nothing to be scared of
(although i do recognize the massive power of Anonymous they pose no threat to the average user)
