My friends tumblr has a list of pages on the side bar and when you click on the twitter one it brings you straight to her twitter account. How do i do that on mine?

You should choose a Tumblr theme that has an option on putting links. Check your theme by clicking the customize button and look for the appearance options and keep scrolling down until you find 'link 1, link 2...' . If you do have, just copy the link of your twitter account. You should log in to twitter first before copying the link. Paste it over the link option.
