Facebook/Instagram need help please? - abc123 - 11-28-2013 02:07 AM

In addition to my regular IG account, I made another (kind of a hate account, won't go into it...) Anyway, I realized it was stupid so I deleted it. A follower, and friend on FB, sent me an @ message on my regular account saying she knew the other account was mine (I think someone may have reported it, so I guess something got out) Then someone on FB, who used to be a friend on FB and follower on IG (not anymore) messaged me asking if I had created that account. When I made it I'm pretty sure it wasn't linked to my FB, but I guess it was? How do these people know this? Isn't reporting supposed to be kept private by FB/IG? I never got a message from FB or IG about anything. What's going on here? How would someone who's not following/friends with me know about this? How would anyone know?
Thank you Nancy. I cleared my history and cookies.
I know, it was stupid. I was just mad over some stuff...anyway, I still want to know how these people know!
If it was linked to my FB, still, how would they have known? Will anyone else find out? IG or FB don't go around giving out this information, right?

What you did was a form of cyber-bullying. At least you were smart enough to realize that it was a stupid thing to do and deleted the account.

Now, unless you delete your cookies and change your IP address, anyone with any amount of computer knowledge can find the IP addresses of both Instagram accounts and see that they are the same as your Facebook IP address.

It's also possible that whoever told you that they know that the hate account was yours didn't really know, but knew that you hated this person and when the hate account showed up, figured it was you who did it. Don't you realize that word spreads rather quickly about things like this?

You're lucky that the person you made the account about doesn't press charges against you. Even with the account deleted, it can still be found if law enforcement was informed. Cyber-bullying/harassment is taken very seriously now. Grow up and don't do this again.

Well you Made a Mistake And Made the Account and you Deleted it They Knew it Was you Because it Was Either Linked to your Facebook Account Or They Some How Suspected it Was you
