If I message somebody on Facebook who I am not friends with, can I tell if they receive my message? - Date - 11-28-2013 07:20 AM

Is there any way of knowing if the persons privacy settings allow them to receive messages from non friends?
I sent the message and it hasn't appeared in my messages, does that mean anything?

If you can send them a message, then most likely they can receive it. You'll know they read it if, at the bottom of the message, it says "Seen at _______ A.M./P.M." That's a big way for Facebook to let you know that they read your message.

Hope I helped.

When you message non friends, the messages goes straight to their "other" folder not their "inbox".
They would need to check their "other" folder for messages. If they have read it, it will say "seen" or "read".

You Can Tell If the Message Says Seen As Keep in Mind Messages Of People Who you Are Not Friends With May Go Into The Other Folder and if it Does The Person Wont See it Unless they Go Into the Other Folder No Message Notification Gets Sent For Messages in That Folder
