Only answer this if you have updated your facebook to the new lay out.
When I click "how my fb appears to public" it shows everything to strangers. How do i change this? please be specific if you know how.
It says "Profile: public" but I don't know where to go to change it back to private.

Step One: Go on Facebook and click the little gear button on the very right next to the little lock icon
Step Two: Click on privacy settings
Step Three: On the column where is says "Who can see my stuff?" and the category "Who can see your future posts?" Click the edit button thats on it.
Step Four: Click on the button on the bottom of the pop-up and select one of the options like Friends meaning only the people you friend can see your stuff.

you have to go thru all of your different settings and change them to "friends only" as described here

there isnt just one simple setting to change anymore
