I barley post photos on instagram and I don't use hash tags and I don't comment on peoples photos. so how are these random people finding me on instagram?

Maybe Through you liking mutual friends pictures? A lot of pages follow random users so the user will follow them back, then they gain followers easily. If you don't like random people following you, try going into your account setting and put your Instagram on private.

Maybe they're not totally random. The people that follow you could have followers that creep on their profile. Then they find you and are like FOLLOW! So yea. And you might wanna make your account private so you can choose who follows you. Hope this helps!
