Sorry for the wording but what I mean is, you know on Facebook how you can only receive messages from your friends? Well I want to know how you can tell if you someone has that enabled or not.

if you are not their friend you won't be able to send messages?

Try sending them a message?.. To change this on your profile, just look at your privacy settings.

go to their profile and see if you can use the message option.
If not, then you have your answer
