question about facebook locations? - Iris - 12-03-2013 02:13 AM

okay so i realized that on facebook, you are able to see where the message was sent from, literally down to the street. i find that kinda creepy. i was just wondering,if i sent a message from my iphone, but it wasn't from the facebook app,can people see it? i sent a message that was suppose to be anonymous and i don't wan't it to come back and bite me in the a** lol. i also sent a message from my macbook..will they be able to see my exact location then? and also, how can i change it so it won't tell people where i am. is it a setting on my facebook,or my devices? thanks

If you turn off location things like GPS on your phone then it won't share this. I only turn GPS on if I need it... which is never and save battery life too. Your location are only posted on Facebook if when you post a status on FB or a picture etc, it does not work with text messages. Computers don't move so you don't have the option to post your location so your friends won't know where you are. Check the privacy settings and you may be able to turn automatic location posts off if it is on by default.
