If you're tagged in a pic, even when you hide that pic in your Timeline, the original poster & her/his friends, and your friend can still see it in their Newsfeed.
That's the nature of Tag.
If you don't want that your friends see it, you have to remove the tag, one way to do it is by hovering your mouse over the top right of the post in your timeline & click Remove Tag.
