This is frightening, what if one day you get on youtube, yahoo, and your favorite site and find your facebook picture visible for strangers to see? They did this without warning(or your permission).
Hotmail does this, what if other sites do the same? Heck, what if your birth name show up as well?
The POINT is they should keep facebook and their sites separate and NOT show your face without permission.

In FB, everybody in FB can see your profile picture, so? don't put your real face there.
Don't put any picture of you & your family as Cover Photo as it's always public. Set your other pics to friends only.
Anything you put in 'cyberspace', even in an email to a friend, can end up in the cyberspace for anybody to see when they google us. Everything shown on screen can be downloaded or if not, can be screen shot, so? Use your discretion what to put/show in cyberspace, maybe it's funny now, but ten or five years from now it can an obstacle for you.
