I don't want certain people friend requesting me? - ... - 12-06-2013 11:12 AM

I hate the new Facebook settings and this timeline thing.
my friends have friends whom I never met or associated with and they all keep friend requesting me.

How can I prevent friends of friends from requesting me on Facebook?
How can I get the old Facebook settings back to where "no one" can friend request you including friends of friends?

Firstly, just decline any friend requests you don't want. It's that simple.

There is no way of stopping people you don't know doing a fried request because the only two options are allowing everyone or friends of friends. The only thing you can do to limit this is select under who can look you up or view your profile is friends.

Change who can look you up by name. Set it to only friends so that only friends can search for you. You can also customize the settings so that only you can search for yourself by name, preventing anyone from searching for you.

Change who can look you up by email and phone number. Set it to only friends so that only friends can search for you by email or the phone number linked to your Facebook.

Change who can send you friend requests. Unfortunately, you cannot prevent anyone from sending you requests. However, limiting the ability to Friends of Friends will decrease the likelihood of receiving a friend request from some random. Restricting the people who can search for you have prevented people from being able to find you on search, greatly minimizing the likelihood that people will be able to find you.
