How to accept a friend request on Facebook without it showing up on all of my friend's news feed? - Laura - 12-10-2013 01:20 AM

I want to accept a friend request from some online friends that I've made but I want to make it so the news that I've accepted them doesn't appear on my friend's news feed. Like you know how when one of your friends accepts a new friend and on your news feed it will say for example "Bob Rogers is now friends with Dane Tanner". Is there a way to stop this or fix it in privacy settings or something? Thanks

make your status post private

You would have to make your friends' list private.

To do so, go to your profile page. Click on the 'Friends' tab. Then click on the little pencil shaped icon on the top right of the friends box. Click on Edit privacy, then change the 'Who can see your friends' list?' to 'only me'.

Hope that helps.

To achieve that, you have to set that your Friends list can only be seen by you (unfortunately your mutual friends will see it).

Go to your Timeline ➤ click Friends ➤ click pencil icon on top right ➤ click Edit Privacy ➤ change to Only Me.
