i just made a facebook because i need to contact my sister ASAP and my telephone died.
she has a very common name and its pages upon pages of people with the same name.
how can i narrow it down (to a city or something) to find her?
i live alone, my phone is dead so i cannot contact my parents.
there MUST be a way. there USED to be. they can't expect you to find anyone with only a name.

there is no way to do that on facebook - i think i already explained this to you
if she's really your sister, then just contact your parents and ask for her email address
or since "your phone died" then just ask to use a friends phone instead
what you are trying to do is not possible

try typing " people named -your sister name- who live in -your sister location-" in search box after that u may find other filters to reduce results
