How to persuade my mom to let me have facebook? - Niamh - 12-11-2013 10:21 PM

I've just been on annual camp with army cadets, and I want to keep in touch with all my friends. They all ask 'add me on facebook'? Because it's easier than getting loads of numbers! I have made some amazing friends, and I desperately want to keep in touch wiith them. My mom won't let me have facebook, because of how employers use it to employ people, and how dangerous it can be,how can I convince her to let me have facebook to keep in touch with all of my friends??? Thanks for any helpful answers!Smile

Tell her to make an account as well so she can keep an eye on you. It gives parents some closure, trust me.

She lets you have Yahoo but not Facebook? What a weirdo. I have had Facebook for YEARS and have never encountered these supposed "ways employers employ people". It's only dangerous if you let it be. Does your mom even know anything about Facebook? You can set your privacy ridiculously secure if you want. It can even be so only you can view your profile.

Make a deal with her. Tell her that you'll give her access to your fb page so she can always check your activities and if you change your facebook so she can't log in she can kick you out of the house. That should be a fair deal.

Don't get a facebook, all it does is waste your time. im not some old geyser, im in high school. facebook is a main source of drama and if you need to say something to someone, text them. and if these people don't have phones, you will forget them before long. i made some amazing camp friend too back in the day, their numbers are all gathering dust in my contacts.

Tell your mom that you understand how everything online is out there for everyone to see and you will give her the password for your Facebook account so she can see you are not posting anything that might get you in trouble. Then make sure you don't post anything thst might get you in trouble.

its' not dangerous,i mean is your choice and your total responsibility for what making in facebook or not.
i think you are old enough to chose a few things for yourself and facebook is one of them.
your intentions are quite for sociable reason and can make u become more friendly, share a lots of knowledge and fun with you friends.
if we all thought in the way that your mom does than we could never get outside of the door of the house because a man can rape us since it's a dangerous world out there, ect.
what i am trying to say it is that your mother should trust u and have total trust on you,ur old enough, act like a responsible
and u'll make her proud,With a Facebook Address too.
