Am I right to not post my relationship status on facebook ? - Jerry - 12-19-2013 07:59 PM

First of all, my girlfriend does not even use facebook, so for that reason alone, I do not post our pictures together on facebook.. If she does not want her pictures online; I am certainly not gonna put it.

Second of all, I don't know if this makes me old fashioned but for some reason I feel like it is childish to post your relationship status unless married.

Everytime I think of posting it, the following thought comes up:
--"am I posting this just to see how others will react"
---anyone on facebook who doesn't know my girlfriend, isn't a very close friend and therefore does not need to know who my boo is.

yes, you are correct.

you have a right to your privacy, even if it appears to contradict the social networking angle.

There's no right or wrong in what you do. You are free to choose whatever you like. Nobody should dictate you. If you don't feel like posting your relationship then don't. If your GF found out that you didn't post your relationship then you should be able to explain your actions. I'm sure you have reasons for doing so which I don't know what.

There's nothing wrong with not posting your relationship. You are able to chose what you share online. Smile

I think you are being extremely wise and mature, a relationship should be about the two people not the amount of likes or comments from facebook!

There needs to be more people like you on facebook Smile
