On FaceBook, what's difference between a friend and a follower? - Sister123 - 12-21-2013 06:18 PM

I have been informed that I have a follower and I don't understand why he didn't just send a friend request.
Am I right to feel a little uncomfortable with this?

friends have a mutual relationship.
followers details are not seen by the one you follow.
you can see only the bits the person you follow wants you to see. you cannot interact as much as a friendship.

A friend is someone who receives your posts, and you receive theirs. A follower is just one-way: they receive your posts, but you don't receive theirs.

it depends on your age - when someone sends you a friend request, they are automatically "following" your public posts, but if you are under 18, you cannot make public posts

a follower means they aren't on your friend list
