Yes they will get your message. But, he wont be able to reply.
And, if ever, you want to unblock him. Expect that youre not friends anymore in fb and you have to add him again. (if that would ever happen? Haha!)

Yeah but you'll come up as facebook user, and they won't be able to reply...
