To wake up, you don't just need to open your eyes/eyelids. Some people who sleep walk open they're eyes but guess what? they're still asleep. So here's the thing, specifically you would still need to wake up. In order to do that you need to 'open' your sleeping brain, then your eyelids, then the door.

It says in the riddle that " the doorbell rings and you wake up", most people open their eyes when they wake up, so your eyes are most likely already open at the point in the narrative at which it asks you the question.
So yes, I argue that you are correct with door.

my answer is lights...
you have to open your lights first before letting them in right or opening the door.... anyway the answer is eyes....

I'm going with eyes or eyelids - more specifically.
for those that say you're awake at 3am I often am too but the question actually says "and you wake up." so the door bell rings you wake up and open your eyes.

Wait... you know the time, who the visitor is, and what you have in the fridge... but of course, you obviously bought those stuffs beforehand so you already know about it. With all these info given, the real correct answer is the FRIDGE or wherever you put all those stuffs in.

You will open your eyes..... You hear the DOORBELL RING, you open your EYES!! I would already be awake, these ppl don't know me very well. Hahaa..... I've been giraffed for 3 days. Dang it! I answered I opened the post 1st, I was wrong.
